NDIS Individualised Living Options

At Karakan, we provide 3 home and living support services for our customers. One of those three is our Individualised Living Options, funded by NDIS. This support service is a flexible, personalised approach to helping you live your life, your way. Our team, dedicated to encouraging others, are here to empower you to choose where you live, who you live with, and how you receive support. Whether you want to live alone, with others, or in a host family arrangement, our goal is to assist you in feeling safe and ‘at home’ and guide you to becoming more independent.

The three types of home and living support services include Supported Independent Living (SIL), Individualised Living Options (ILO) and Short-Term Accommodation (STA). These services are designed to promote independence, enhance your quality of life, and support your mental health recovery.

Our Individualised NDIS Housing Brisbane

Here at Karakan, we take pride in being a local Brisbane and Gold Coast support service for those who need it the most. Today, we remain a vibrant and sustainable organisation that offers support to people with mental health, psychosocial, and disability needs in, building connections and independence within their own communities.

What Kind of Help Does ILO Offer Me?

Our NDIS housing Brisbane service helps with connecting with others, learning new skills, and gaining a level of independence in areas such as cooking, cleaning, and general housekeeping. In saying that, it’s not all about practical assistance. It’s a unique approach that focuses on putting you at the centre of your living arrangement. Just remember, your family and friends can also be there to support you alongside your paid support.

Who is in Charge of My ILO Supports?

The best part about our NDIS ILO is control being handed over to you. You get to decide how your supports are set up, and we’re here to assist should you need it. This means you get to live your life the way you really want to, with the required support that you need when you need it.

Who is Eligible for Individualised Living Options (ILO)?

Our ILO support could be a good fit if you’re someone who is an NDIS customer with mental health needs and psychosocial disabilities. If you meet the following criteria, you may be eligible:

You need to be 18 years or older. If you are 17 and thinking about where you want to live in the future, you can also consider ILO.
You need support at home for at least 6 hours each day.

Your friends and family can help you make decisions as well as set up your ILO. Don’t forget, here at Karakan, we are always ready to help.
