Psychosocial recovery Coaching

Psychosocial Recovery Coaching is a person-centred and evidence-based service funded by the NDIS to support individuals with mental health needs and psychosocial disabilities on their recovery journey. This service is all about you and your journey to recovery. It is about identifying and building on your strengths, resilience, abilities, and personal goals.

You will work with a recovery coach who will provide a supportive and empowering environment that will help you take control of your recovery journey and work towards your goals. Together with your families, carers, and other services, your recovery coach will design, plan, implement and review a recovery plan tailored to your unique needs.

The role of the Psychosocial Recovery Coach is to provide individualised support and guidance. They will help you identify your strengths, goals, and aspirations, and support you in developing strategies to achieve your desired outcomes. They will also help you to build resilience, develop skills, and use resources and tools to manage your mental health and psychosocial well-being.

Psychosocial Recovery Coaches are mental health professionals with either lived or learned experience.

The goals of psychosocial recovery coaching are:

1. You’re in Control– This service is about empowering you to take charge of your own journey to feeling better.

2. Building on Your Strengths– We will work together to identify your strengths and abilities, and use them as a foundation for your recovery.

3. Setting and Reaching Goals– We will assist you in setting your own personal goals and support you as you strive to achieve them.

4. Learning New Skills– We will work with you to recognise and enhance your existing skills, while also exploring new strategies that empower you to manage your mental health journey.

5. Becoming Resilient– We are here to support you in building your resilience, helping you become stronger and able to cope with life’s challenges.

6. Working Together– We will collaborate with you, your family, and other services to create a recovery plan that is tailored just for you.

7. Using Resources– We will guide you on how to utilise different tools and resources that can support your recovery journey.

8. Becoming Independent– Our goal is to support you in leading a more independent and fulfilling life.
